The Create Escape is hosted by Lucy MacBrayne (mixed media artist and teacher) and Russell Walker (illustrator, designer, and educator).
After decades spent guiding fellow creatives, Lucy and Russell have found that they share a simple, common passion: To create an environment where artists can truly unplug, explore and find joy in creativity.
The Create Escape is an opportunity to get away, relax and explore your creativity.
Located within luxury accommodation and the tranquil beauty of the UK countryside, Lucy and Russell provide gentle guidance, thoughtful prompts and activities designed to spark new ideas and unlock different approaches to image-making.

What is THE CREATE ESCAPE?
This is an opportunity to get away, relax and explore the creativity that you know whilst discovering new ways of image making and approaching your work. Located within award winning contemporary accommodation and the tranquil beauty of the Norfolk countryside.
Who are THE CREATE ESCAPE?
Lucy MacBrayne [mixed media artist, teacher] and Russell Walker [ Illustrator, designer, educator] have combined their diverse skills and expertise to help others to explore all aspect of creativity and image making. Lucy and Russell share a common passion to help fellow creatives discover new ideas and enjoy good experiences.
What happens at THE CREATE ESCAPE?
Through a series of prompts, themes and activities both Lucy and Russell will support your exploration to find new ideas and the making of images. Each session will nurture your current creative palette and extend your range of work and skills for the future. There will be demonstrations, discussions, wonderful food and warm hospitality.
What’s included?
Food. Fun. A fabulous venue in a wonderful location. Lots of creative support powered by the things that we’ve learnt and would like to share with you.

What’s not included?
Art supplies and materials, transport to and from location.
Do I need insurance?
We suggest that it might be an idea to get a short period of personal insurance just to cover the unexpected, such as accidents and loss of items.
Food Allergies?
Please let us know if you have any food allergies so that this can be accommodated in advance.
What do I need to bring?
We’ll put a short list of things together closer to the time, such as paper and paint etc. We will keep you posted on this.
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel 6 weeks or more before your date of stay, you would lose the deposit. If the cancellation is 1 to 6 weeks before your date of stay, you are obliged to pay 50% of the total accommodation cost including your deposit. If cancellation is 1 week or less before your date of stay, you are obliged to pay 100% of the total accommodation cost.

Godwick Hall 11-15 June 2026
Escape with us to Godwick Hall in Norfolk in June 2026.
This stunning Georgian manor house has bags of charm and oodles of space. Set in 80 acres of secluded parkland, it sleeps 14 people in seven bedrooms, six of which have en-suite facilities.
The Hall
Godwick Hall is the true embodiment of Norfolk’s charm. It offers a private and peaceful retreat where luxury and relaxation intertwine. This remarkable setting is the ideal place to create some cherished memories.
Godwick Hall boasts an array of inviting living spaces, allowing guests to get together and also escape for some quiet time if needed.
Accommodation
All the bedrooms are beautifully furnished and individually designed, so you won’t miss out whichever room you sleep in. Each bedroom has a king or super king-size Hypnos bed for you to sink into, and all have luxurious en-suites. They also all have Samsung smart TVs and breath-taking views of the ancient parkland.
Two of the rooms can be set up as twin rooms, if preferred, and two bathrooms have baths as well as showers. A sumptuous ground floor en-suite bedroom is ideal for less mobile guests.
The Heart of the Home
The heart of the home is the recently refurbished, fully-equipped chef’s kitchen. It’s a large room, with plenty of seats at the kitchen table for guests to sit and chat or chop veggies. Maybe whilst enjoying a glass of wine, or two.
The resplendent formal dining room can comfortably seat up to 18 guests. This is where our creative hub will be!
Great Spaces
The bold and elegant drawing room is furnished with tailor-made, oversized sofas, making it the perfect room to relax in. A door leads out to the conservatory, allowing the light and conversation to flow through.
The conservatory is bright and spacious, with lots of comfortable seating to relax on. It overlooks the outdoor heated pool.
